Hi! I recently found your blog and love it! My husband and I visited Bar Cento for the first time this past Friday--it was fantastic, we'll be back often. We're already telling friends about it. And I loved this post. In the Night Kitchen was our daughter's favorite book (she's 7 now) and she had it memorized before she was three years old. Now it's becoming one of our son's favorites, too! It's funny to find someone else who loves this book!

This book,( along with anything else penned or illustrated by Sendak) is one one my favorite reads for kids, and myself. I have another little one called HIGGELTY PIGGELTY POP! OR THERE MUST BE MORE TO LIFE that I've saved from my childhood - I'll spare you from the publishing date. It is absurd and I have not seen it around anywhere ever - must have spawned controversy....big eye roll. I'll bring it for you next time I'm in BC.

I love the cover, I had never read it however or saw it before today. Only adults would have issues with the child wearing cake batter in stead of clothing, a child would either not notice it or find it funny. I find it rather amusing myself.

BTW the way we made a Cleveland Trip yesterday and stopped by the restaurant only it was too early and not open yet for business. I was on a quest for a "Pasta Platter" for a cousins wedding shower. Oh how I miss the old neighborhood... Cleveland = home!

I've never heard of this book but I'm so glad that I am finally in the know! My niece's 2 year old birthday just passed and I think this book is perfect for her and her 4 year old brother! Thank you for sharing. I am so excited now! Are there any other kids books about food and cooking? If there isn't there should be!
