Summer Sandal Season is Approaching & My Feet are Smiling

An ex-boyfriend of mine once told me that my legs looked thick when I wore espadrille sandals.  He was an ass.   I totally believed him though, and have since sworn off the chunky summer shoe.

I avoid espadrilles like the plague.   I have bought them though.  I even have a pair of gold Coach espadrilles in my closet that I have yet to wear.  They were $20 and I just couldn’t pass them up.  Plus they sparkled….

Summer screams sandal to me and I am so excited that a few of my faves are all the rage.  I have been rocking fringe sandals and wood heels my entire life.  I remember sneaking my mom’s wood healed platforms out of the house to wear to high school.  They were fantastic.  And now they are back and better than ever!  Let the summer shoe shine.

As you can see, the shoes above are some of my summer fave’s.  Some I can afford.  Some I would have to refinance my house to buy (see fabulous Deva Suede Christian Louboutain Tie Back Boots above).  Even though some will never touch my feet I cannot wait for this endless winter to be gone so my feet can rock our some summer sandals!

I’m in Love…Green Love

The Chef & Biggie celebrate Irish with luuuuuuuuurve!

As you may have noticed my posts have come to a halt.  The restaurant is opening soon and my responsibilities are increasing and increasing and increasing.  And my help factor is not.  I am talking to part time nannies this week to help with the kids while I am at the restaurant.  I signed up for sittercity.com (and have had no LUCK) however I have reconnected (on FB & Twitter) with a good friend from grade school with who happens to be a nanny.  Crazy shit.  We teamed up for our 8th grade talent show to do a dance to Iron Butterfly’s Ina Gadda Da Vita, dry ice and all.  The nuns really LOVED our performance.

Well then.  Time to run.  Off to the restaurant to film a Living Green segment for da news.

If you are a Cleveland reader and need a job, the Chef is HIRING host/hostesses!

Shiva The Destroyer

I rented Rachel Getting Married last night because I thought it was a comedy.  It wasn’t at all.  It was about addiction, enabling, beautiful music, death, mother daughter relationships, and rehab.  Five things I unfortunately knwo too much about.  The Chef fell asleep five minutes in & I became riveted by the film.  I couldn’t turn it off even though I could barely see the screen through the tears.

It was a good movie.  Actually it was great.  At times it was a little slow.  And even though it was troubling for me to watch (I normally stay away from junkie flicks) it ended being quite thoughtful.  Anne Hathaway was fantastic and for once I could actually see why she was in the running for an Oscar.

Tonight The Changeling.  I expect the tears on this one.

******Since I have yet to hear back from winner of the Food Fiction Book Giveaway I am going to offer it again on this post. Two books. Signed by the author. Rockstar Parking.
To win this awesome prize pack of super fun leave me a comment with a movie recommendation. The Chef & I are movie buffs however we always end up with crap. Rachel Getting Married was the first good movie I have seen since I saw Benjamin Button. Your suggestion will be much appreciated!!!  xoxo

A winner will be picked by midnight on Sunday.  Bonne Chance.

Real Men Drive Minivans

Although I vowed to never own a minivan and have fought the Chef numerous times over it, my mind could always be swayed my McGregor’s choice in automobiles...

2 days ago my world changed.  I found out my secret boyfriend Mr. Ewan McGregor was on Twitter.  I immediately followed him.  Life was grand & glorious!  And then it crashed.  Today I found out that his account was all a bunch of malarkey.  Damn you fake Ewan, damn you!!!

****The new & imporved winner of the Conant Park Mysteries Food Fiction Book Giveaway is RENEE!  Congrats mama~ Please email me asap so I can get these books shipped.  xoxo
