I am desperately trying to figure out summer camp for the boy. It seems as though I am a bit late and everything is full. Bad mommy. Any suggestions of camps or classes would be gratly appreciated!

the metroparks have some fun sounding summer camps. i think we’re going to try them this year for the first time. we’ve done the art museum too and that was fun. i wonder if the natural history museum might have camps? what about the science center?

I have sent my girls and worked at Beachwood City Camps for years. They provide a lot of ‘specials’ ala field trips, entertainment etc. AND… you get to swim in that amazing pool! Not too bad

YMCA day camps are always an option and offer different programs and you can sign-up for certain weeks. There are also Catholic Charities camps that are throughout the area (Camp Christopher and others). The outdoorsy camp in Hiram (the name is leaving me) has awesome adventure and nature activities. Good luck, there are actually a lot of choices in Cleveland. I used to run summer camps for the Girl Scouts.
Camp Whitewood does week camps based on your county of residence. Run by OSU and 4-H but you do not have to be a member to participate.
The YMCA week camps are awesome and full of day trips.
I second Camp Chrstopher. They have many programs throughout the summer.
The YMCA camps are good. I’ve done projects at the Hiram House and they are good people. They even have horses on site and host several band camps if you have interest in music.http://www.hiramhousecamp.org/

Red Raider camp is an excellent choice, shame it closed 20 years ago. Camp Sandusky is fun, swimming, boating, fishing, good companions, star gazing, eco tourism, etc.
Old Trail has some really fun camps, like the Skippity-Do-Dah half-day program for little ones. (My son’s liked the Blue Streak sports camp there, too.)
