The Last Days of the Decade

Published in Widowism by chefswidow

What a whirlwind the holidays were.  The week started off with Festivus, our 5th and BEST one ever.  The night started off with our dear friend Erich giving us the best Festivus gift ever.  Wanna see?

The night then blossomed with a mass gathering of 80′s hair band rockers.  It was rad.  I will say this and the Chef agrees, this Festivus was by far the most entertaining and fun of all the past parties.  Good times.  Can’t wait till next years.

Following Festivus was our Christmas eve celebration with our parents, first my dad’s for brunch and then onto the Chef’s parents house for dinner.  Because of my early departure from Festivus ( I went to bed at midnight) I felt great all day and was more than happy to have some family time.  The entire day was superb.  Being around our families was really what the both of us needed.  And watching the mini’s have so much fun and exude so mch love really made the day so special.

Christmas day was our first ever spent at home.  Usually the kids open their presents and we have to hop from family to family.  Not this year.  We opened our presents , layed around, and watched Christmas Story.  After about 8 hours of this awesome quality time we headed over to Symon’s to snag some dinner.  He made a mad spread that pretty much blows all Christmas dinners out of the water.  In the middle of this amazing dinner their dogs got skunked.   Totally awful but totally  national lampoony.

The holidays reminded me how lucky I am to have such a brilliant family and so many amazing good friends.  This week I am going to celebrate the last days of the decade with them.  Each day this week I will be reposting a favorite of mine from ’09.  Fine in ’09 if you will. I hope you enjoy.

May the last few days of 2009 remind you that we have a gorgeous future ahead of us in 2010!

Happy New Year bitches.

    CW,

I was glad to have been invited and to attend the Festivus party. It was awesome. It was priceless to see Symon in his get up and then debate of hair bands with Michelle V. I also was very happy to have met Alexa of Cleveland’s a Plum. Great fun all around.

Thanks so much and Happy New Year!
